Professor Elizabeth Catharina (Elize) Du Plessis is a distinguished South African academic and NRF C2-rated researcher, currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instructional Studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA). With over three decades of expertise in curriculum studies, open-distance and e-learning (ODeL), and teacher education, she has significantly shaped pedagogical practices and policy implementation in Southern Africa. A prolific scholar, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, co-edited academic books, and presented at international conferences, focusing on curriculum innovation, online assessment, and AI in education. Her leadership extends to coordinating UNISA’s PGCE (Senior Phase and FET) program, supervising postgraduate students, and advocating for equitable education through community engagement.
