Dr. Funda Örnek is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of education. She holds an Associate Professorship in Science Education. Dr. Örnek has a diverse range of academic and professional experience. She is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Math, Science, and ICT Education at Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain. Her teaching portfolio includes various subjects such as Learning and Human Development, Differentiated Instruction for Inclusive Classrooms, and Innovations in Teaching and Learning in Primary Science, among others. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Örnek took on administrative roles, including serving as the Head of the Math, Science, and ICT Education Department. Throughout her career, Dr. Örnek has contributed to the field through her research and publications. Her research interests span various topics, including AI in Science education, the integration of mobile technology in teaching and learning, scientific inquiry, ICT interactions in math and science, the Nature of Science (NOS) and student epistemologies, Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK), students’ attitudes towards science, mathematical modeling in physics, and STEM education. She also attended academic conferences and gave her speeches. She serves as the reviewer for some journals and book/book chapter(s).
